Domain Name Registration
What is a domain name anyway?
Domain names are the web addresses of relatives (ie somename.com) that Web browsers use to locate a particular website. Domain names, in fact, are pointers to a specific IP address (Internet Protocol) (is a server address to use to locate each other) and use it for one simple reason. They are more descriptive and easier to remember than an IP address that is present in only a bunch of numbers (eg 125.416.28.7).
The registration process If you want to buy a domain name, first you need to find a registrar who will process the registration of domain names. There are now hundreds of registrars you can use. To view the full list of accredited registrars of domain names visit the InterNIC website (www.internic.com / regist.html). When you go to a website of the registrar you selected you can use your domain name search to verify that the domain name you plan to buy has not been adopted yet. If available you can proceed with registration. Now, as to continue the registration has about three more steps to complete the purchase. The domain name registration process may differ slightly from row to row, but the next three steps need to be more or less the same for most of them. 1. Decide how many years you want to register your domain name? 2. Choose Public or private record? 3. Enter the domain name contact information |
